Jazz Point Ibiza · 2026
The seventh edition of Jazz Point Ibiza ran from 15 to 20 October 2026, bringing together an international cast of jazz masters from Brazil, Cuba, Israel, France, Switzerland, Austria, Colombia, the United States and Spain. For the first time, the whole festival took place under one roof at The Standard, Ibiza. Evening concerts were held in the intimate Jara Restaurant and afternoon sets on the UP rooftop above Ibiza Town.
Thursday opened with “A Taste of All Festival Artists,” a showcase that introduced nearly the entire lineup in a single night. Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo joined marimba player Andrés Coll and drummer Joan Carles Marí. Israeli pianist Tal Cohen led his trio with François Moutin on bass and Florian Arbenz on drums, joined by Colombian vocalist Catalina Londoño. Austrian alto saxophonist Karolina Strassmayer and Cuban tenor saxophonist Maikel Vistel each stepped in with the rhythm section, so the audience heard every voice of the festival before the weekend began.
On Friday afternoon, “The Guitar Masters” brought Romero Lubambo and Cuban guitarist Norberto Rodríguez together for a duo set on the rooftop. That evening, “The Trumpet Masters” filled Jara as American trumpeter Michael Cruse led a quintet of international all-stars, with Spanish trumpeter and pianist Pere Navarro as special guest.
Saturday began with “Sweet Sounds of Piano & Vocal,” in which Tal Cohen and Catalina Londoño welcomed tenor saxophonist Wayne Escoffery to UP. At night the festival reached its peak with “The Jazz Point All-Stars.” Strassmayer, Vistel, Cruse, Escoffery, Cohen, Moutin and Arbenz shared one stage in a set that captured the spirit of the whole week.
On Sunday, “From Cannonball to Ornette” traced a line through the history of the alto saxophone. Karolina Strassmayer fronted the Florian Arbenz Trio, featuring Andrés Coll on marimba.
The festival closed on Tuesday with “An Evening to Remember.” The Pere Navarro Trio, with Jesús Bastias on guitar and bass and Alain Ladrón de Guevara on drums, ended the edition on a distinctly local note.
Seven concerts, nine nationalities and one unforgettable address: the seventh edition showed that Jazz Point Ibiza has found its home.
